Our Bagpipe Chanter Practice is a woodwind instrument featuring two reeds. Designed for beginners, our practice chanter consists of two parts and is constructed from either wood or synthetic materials. It has a small-diameter hole bored lengthwise through the center, which serves as a connection point for the two pieces and allows for the insertion of a reed. When air is blown into the mouthpiece, it travels to the center of the practice chanter, passes through the reed, and creates vibrations that produce sound. The lower end of the chanter is equipped with finger holes that can be opened or closed to adjust the pitch of the sound. The primary purpose of this instrument is to help develop finger dexterity for playing various bagpipe melodies, as indicated by its name.
